what do you know about how a CFB boiler work

For the Circulating Fluidized Bed combustion has given boiler and power station operators a larger flexibility in burning a variety of coal as well as other fuels. More enterprises choose the CFB boiler in their industries, then do you know how the CFB boiler works?


Fluidized Bed
At the bottom on the boiler furnace there is a bed of inert material. Bed is the place the coal or fuel spreads. Air supply is from in the spare room at ruthless. This lifts your bed material and also the coal particles and keeps it in suspension. The coal combustion takes place in this particular suspended condition. This can be the Fluidized bed.

Special design from the air nozzles at the end with the bed allows airflow without clogging. Primary air fans provide you with the preheated Fluidizing air. Secondary air fans provide pre-heated Combustion air. Nozzles inside furnace walls at various levels distribute the Combustion air from the furnace.

Circulation of the CFB boiler
Fine particles of partly burned coal, ash and bed material are carried along with the flue gases towards the upper aspects of the furnace and right into a cyclone. From the cyclone the heavier particles separate from the gas and falls towards hopper on the cyclone. This returns for the furnace for recirculation. And so the name Circulating Fluidized Bed combustion. The new gases through the cyclone pass to the heat transfer surfaces and walk out the boiler.

First the bed material is sand. Some portion is lost in the ash throughout the operation this also must be made-up. In coal fired boilers the ash from the coal itself may be the makeup material. When firing bio fuels with minimal ash content sand may be the makeup bed material. For high Sulphur coals Limestone addition to the bed material reduces SO2 emissions.
